A small device you carry. It holds the most recent stretch of sound - 10, 20 or 30 minutes, your choice - and continuously lets the rest go. When something happens, you press once, after, and that stretch is saved. Witnuss lets you save the past, just in case it matters later.

It always holds the most recent window, and it is always letting go of everything older. Nothing is kept unless you press, set a scheduled memory, or turn on Long Memory. You can also switch the microphone off: it then takes in no sound at all, and the light says so.

No. The device works entirely on its own, and its own companion app rides on its card - put the card in any computer and open it in a browser, with the internet off. The Hyndsyt iPhone app is where saves become Memories you can come back to, and it is optional.

Every press-after save carries proof that the recording existed before the moment you pressed. Anyone you hand it to can check it, offline. It proves the sound could not have been fabricated after the fact; it does not prove who was speaking or what happened outside the microphone's reach.

Yes. Cut out a few seconds, after the fact, and the save no longer matches its own record. The edit shows, to anyone who checks.

On the device, and on your iPhone if you bring them over. Your Witnuss needs no account and uploads nothing; nothing leaves it unless you move it. Sharing a moment from the app is optional: it travels end-to-end encrypted through our servers, and only the people you chose can open it.

Turn on protection and each save on the card is locked to your password. It is off until you turn it on, and while it is on, saves stay on the card instead of coming to your phone.

Up to 90 days, resting on the card. Go back to any moment in that window and keep the stretch that mattered. It is optional and off until you turn it on.

Laws about recording conversations differ by place, and many require everyone's consent. You are responsible for following the law where you are, and for what you choose to save and share.

Between Us and Backed work with your phone alone. With a Witnuss on you, your people can also hear the minutes from before you pressed - the part no phone can give them.
